In their own words, 2011 was "an incredibly busy year" for Cindy Lee - Director at Fresh Eye Film Productions, and her producer Brian Critchfield, with amazing spots for Virseker, kalahari.net, McDonald's, Kellogg's, Supa Quick and Jet, to name just a few.
However, some of them weren't without their challenges. "We kicked the year off with a great campaign for Virseker, which certainly got people talking. One of the three boards had to have a guy dangling from a helicopter while shooting a water pistol, the second had to have a guy on a horse in a boardroom while dressed in full armour, and the third, a 'naked' streaker on a rugby field. Nothing quite like three challenges in one campaign," says Cindy.
"We also did a fantastically whacky campaign for Supa Quick, which was unfortunately pulled before the entire campaign flighted. We are still scratching our heads as to why it was pulled, something to do with a psychologically disturbed guy? But we had a lot of fun casting, turning a school into an asylum, and building padded cells and dispensaries. I was also really honoured to work with great actors in the campaign, especially Ben Voss."
The team did some excellent work this year with JWT for Kellogg's, the last of which was for the launch of a new brand, 'Nutri-Grain'. "It's always nice to launch a new brand, as you're starting with a clean slate and you can pretty much drive the look of the brand. The creatives at JWT were, as usual, a great bunch of people to collaborate with. We hope 2012 is just as busy, but maybe not as controversial," concludes Cindy.
