Parkinson shows Medi-Clinic really cares

Film director Jonathan Parkinson brought such love and compassion to the new Medi-Clinic commercial that viewers almost wished they had an ailment.
It was a job in extreme sensitivity as he worked his way around the Somerset West Medi-Clinic trying not to disturb the real patients and directing the actor patients, cordoning off sections of the ward as he worked.

Speaking from his office at Fresh Eye Film Productions he said he used restricted focus to give the soft, gentle feel seen in the commercial.
"I concentrated on people for this ad because I believe this is a hospital's only differentiator."

He said the casting was the most important element. "We needed confident actors especially where the children were concerned because we don't often get the luxury of repeat takes."

Working with a large cast of mixed ages is something Parkinson enjoys the most. He finds getting the best acting performance from them very gratifying.
