HKLM Exchange has been named the overall winner in the Visual Layout category in this year's prestigious Sake24's Financial Advertising Awards for the Steinhoff International year-end results announcement. Steinhoff was also placed second in the Content category of the awards.
Karin Boshoff, MD of HKLM Exchange, said it was particularly gratifying that one of HKLM Exchange's clients had been acknowledged at such an illustrious forum, given that this division of HKLM had only been in operation for 18 months.
“It highlights our understanding of the reporting requirements for listed companies and the importance and value of integrating and aligning investor-related communications with the umbrella brand strategy. Whilst financial advertising is a requirement, it is also an important component of the brand communications process.”
Added Boshoff: “Design and presentation play an important role in investor communications, but content is the crux of the matter where disclosure, transparency and accountability are paramount.”
Sake24's Financial Advertising Awards were first held in 2000 in order to promote compliance with the King II report on corporate governance. The event recognises the achievements of the financial advertising industry and encourages more creative executions of these essential communications. There are two categories in the competition, the first being Content and the second being Visual Layout, Communication and Creativity.
This year the panel of independent adjudicators for the Content category was headed up by Professor Herman de Jager, head of the Department of Auditing at the University of Pretoria. Professor Ronel van Rensburg, head of the Department of Marketing and Communications, at the University of Pretoria headed the panel adjudicating the Visual Layout category.
