Janine Lazarus will be discussing Springbok Coach Peter de Villiers' outrageous outburst and the ripple effect a message like this has in the media this Sunday, 05 July 2009 on Media@SAfm with Ashraf Garda.
De Villiers' angry outburst earlier this week after the Springbok/Lions game at Loftus last Saturday, left rugby fans and the media alike outraged.
In response to the eye-gouging incident on the part of flank Schalk Burger, the coach lashed out at reporters: "Why don't we all go to the nearest ballet shop, get some nice tutus and get some great dancing going on. No eye-gouging, no tackling, no nothing.”
Adding insult to injury, De Villiers said he didn't read newspapers and didn't know how the media perceived him. “I don't care. I don't take interest in your job, but I'm glad you take an interest in mine.”
Don't miss what should be a thought-provoking discussion on Media@SAfm (104 - 107) on Sunday, 05 July from 9:30am.
