Draftfcb South Africa's client brands continue to rank as the country's favourites, according to research conducted by TNS Research Surveys on behalf of Avusa Media.
Published in the Sunday Times earlier this month (August 2009), the research ranked the agency group's biggest and most high-profile clients at the top of the country's favourite brands lists.
Achieving the top spot in their categories were Vodacom (No 1 Telecommunication Provider), Savanna (No 1 Cider) and Santam (No 1 Short-term Insurer). Toyota and Metropolitan Life were ranked second in the Cars and Long-term Insurer categories, and Vodacom took 2nd and 3rd place in two of the four Grand Prix categories - it ranked 2nd in the Overall Favourite Brand category and 3rd in the Company Doing The Most To Uplift The Community category.
First National Bank, a long-standing Draftfcb client which only recently moved its business away from the agency, was rated as the No 1 Retail Bank as well as 2nd in the business-to-business category for Banks.
Commenting on Draftfcb South Africa's reputation as one of the most consistent builders of South Africa's favourite brands, Group Executive Creative Director, Brett Morris, said everyone at the agency was very proud of its performance over the years, and know that their clients appreciate how the work they do for them adds real value to their businesses.
“At Draftfcb, performance at the local and international awards shows are important because they reflect our standing in a creative industry.
“But, these ‘favourite brand' surveys, as well as the ‘most liked' lists provided by Millward Brown Impact and on which we also score well, are almost more important because they benchmark our ability to connect with the South African public in a way that builds the country's favourite brands,” he said.
“It is extremely gratifying that our clients - big or small - not only rank amongst the country's favourite brands year in and year out, but lead the markets, or are among the market leaders, in which they trade.”
