Newcomer to the industry, NATIVE, snapped up two silver Assegai Awards at last night's awards evening (17 November) held in Johannesburg.
The first award was for the 'You need the Hippo' campaign in the Media Awards - Category: Alternative Media - Experiential and the second award was for the VISI website in the Media Awards - Website category.
Kevin Lourens, Chief Growth Officer NATIVE, attended the event and says it was gratifying for NATIVE to be recognised for its effective creativity whilst delivering outstanding returns on these campaigns. "Considering NATIVE has only been trading for just under a year, it was exciting to have such a good showing in these awards. It will inspire us further to not only increase the creativity coming out of NATIVE in the year ahead but to combine contextual effectiveness and achieve even better results for our clients," he says.
Commenting on the awards, Kevin says the award for the VISI website is now the third award it has received. "VISI is definitely the standout piece of work for us this year and we are thrilled at the recognition it has received at the Loeries, The Bookmarks and now the Assegai awards."
Regarding the Hippo campaign, Kevin says taking on this ongoing campaign was a brave move for NATIVE since it incorporates a socially rooted and fully-integrated campaign, including a live activation component. "We are the country's largest, fully-integrated digital agency and this campaign was an opportunity for us to flex our muscles and prove that we truly are fully-integrated. It has been very rewarding seeing the great response we have had to this campaign and of course receiving this Assegai award," he concludes.
