[The Digital Edge] Is traditional media on its deathbed in South Africa?

Digital is supposed to herald the demise of traditional media. There are those touting the death of the newspaper and the decline of the magazine but just what is the state of play in South Africa?
The latest episode of The Digital Edge probes the minds of the big three media houses in the country to see whether they think that digital media is going to overtake and negate traditional media. We speak to Toby Shapshak from Avusa, Tim Spira from 24.com and Nevo Haddas from Kagiso Media, and get their thoughts on budgets, user-generated content, measurability and whether bureaucratic media agencies can survive.

Also featured is the weekly roundup of the Blogosphere by Heather Ford and a slightly cynical acknowledgement of Valentines, in the Top 10 with the "Ten cheesiest lines from romantic movies”. Download the latest programme episode from www.thedigitaledge.co.za on Monday the 16th of February 2009 from 12h00.
