Virgin Festival, the leading international music festival is coming to South Africa, and www.virginfestival.co.za
was created to offer South African fans an exciting, interactive experience that lives up to the reputation of the Virgin Festival itself.
The website provides music fans a snapshot of what lies in store for festival lovers in December.

The website and online media creative was a collaborative effort with Am I Collective, who were assigned as brand custodians for the event, and who are responsible for the creative treatment of all marketing collateral.

Stonewall+ Media were brought in to handle online media planning and buying in conjunction with Lieze Langford of Red Carpet Management and created a comprehensive online media plan to target music fans and the festival-going audience. Media exposure includes lifestyle, broadcast and music spaces, as well as targeted advertising across relevant social networks. The campaign reach extends further into the social media landscape, with a vibrant Facebook presence - and a dedicated "Tweet" update on Twitter.
Explaining why Virgin chose to launch Virgin Festival in South Africa, Sir Richard Branson said, "I love this country! In the last 12 years we have launched eight successful businesses in SA - we have over one million customers and 4,500 staff and it just makes sense to launch Virgin Festival here - especially as South Africa has some of the most beautiful Greenfield sites in the world. Live music is growing, it's a great way to connect with youth and it's something to be positive about." Regarding the "green" component of the Festival, he said, "I have asked the team to make this a 'green' festival (from on-site recycling to tree planting to offset the carbon emissions) and there will be strong links to Virgin Unite, our not-for-profit entrepreneurial foundation that tackles tough social and environmental issues."

The international Festival is one of the crown jewels of the Virgin Group, having been around since 1996.
