Duracell, international market leaders in alkaline batteries, has appointed Volcano Advertising to handle the above and below the line advertising and eventing campaigns for the second Duracell Toy of the Year Awards for 2005.
This year's promotion is based on Duracell's highly successful Toy Awards last year and is set to be the leading event in the South African Toy Industry.
The Toy of the Year Awards is the only toy competition of this magnitude in the country and involves suppliers, distributors, professionals and children alike. All toys that are entered will be judged at year end and then donated to various children's charities around the country, while subsequently being showcased on SABC television.
Through this initiative, designed by the Volcano team, Duracell is now in the position to showcase the country's best-loved and leading toys of the year. This campaign initiated by the South African Toy Association, the aim is to create awareness within the toy industry, while simultaneously pinpointing exactly what the most popular toys are amongst the target market - the kids.
A Trade and Consumer show will also be taking place from 23 - 25 September, where all the toys entered will be displayed for the public to see and experience for themselves.
