The High Definition technology of Sony's Digital Cinema Projector will be used at the World Premiere of the landmark film, More Than Just A Game, which tells the dramatic and little-known story of organised football played among prisoners on Robben Island.
This event will take place at the occasion of the Preliminary Draw of the 2010 FIFA World Cup™ in Durban on Friday, 23 November at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli International Convention Centre. The film, produced by Anant Singh and Helena Spring is directed by Junaid Ahmed and stars Presley Chweneyagae (Tsotsi) and Wright Ngubeni (Generations).
Sony has always been at the forefront of the latest and cutting-edge technology developments and has therefore already built up a solid High Definition (HD) heritage. Most consumers are by now also aware of the features and benefits of HD technology and the wide range of Sony's products that integrate synergistically in providing the ultimate entertainment experience. However, the latest product in Sony's HD World goes to the movies.
The new SRX-R110CE is Sony's Digital Cinema Projector that uses SXRD technology and therefore offers an unprecedented 4K (4096 x 2160 pixels) resolution for an unbelievable movie experience that provides the sharpest and brightest image ever seen in a cinema. The image provides so much detail that you could virtually see the individual blades of grass on a sports field. Add to this picture the incredible life-like colours and the viewing experience becomes so real it feels as if you are in the movie.
The SRX-R110CE can also be used as a staging projector in large venues for high end corporate events where the visual quality of the presentation is of utmost importance. It could also be used in large control rooms where large amounts of data need to be displayed with crystal-clear clarity.
