After hosting 40 000 visitors in 2006 at Sandton City and the V&A Waterfront, Sony Expo will also include Durban this year. Andrew Fraser, Senior Manager – Brand Management for Sony SA, says: “Sony's annual Expo has proved to be a resounding success. Not only do we introduce the latest technologies to the consumer, but it's also an opportunity for us to meet and interact with the consumer. All our Product Managers are at the Expo to answer questions and guide the consumer in making the correct purchasing decision. What's all the fuss about HD? Sony has decided on a novel and exciting way to demonstrate its cutting-edge HD products to the public by putting on a TV Game Show. The objective of the
High Definition Game Show is to educate the consumer about the features and benefits of HD in a fun and exciting way – and what is more exciting than winning some great Sony prizes?
Sony is building a replica of a television studio at the Expo that is fully equipped with professional HD broadcast equipment. Visitors will therefore see how a television show is produced and all the equipment that is used in producing it. After each show, the visitors will be able to watch a recording of the Game Show and experience the vivid images, brilliant colours and crystal-clear sound of HD television.
