Finger licking good

The latest television commercial for KFC, was conceptualised by advertising agency Ogilvy, directed by Jason Fialkov of Frieze Films and shot on location in Cape Town.
The commercial shows two surfers sitting in a Kombi on the beach with surfboards on the roof. They are chilling after a day on the waves and munching Hawaiian Twisters from KFC. They are in their 'zone'. One turns to the other and says nothing, and as if reading his thoughts, the second surfer simply says "fully". No further words are needed to describe that life doesn't get much better than this.

The commercial then cuts away to show the ingredients of the Hawaiian Twister - for people who are passionate about all things Hawaiian.

Vanessa Gibson, Art Director at Ogilvy comments: "Jason was fantastic to work with. He gave 200% of himself to the commercial - even though it wasn't a huge spot with special effects and massive challenges. He put in a lot of energy and effort into his work and it was great to know that he was on the same side of us. It certainly made the shoot easy and fun."

"This was the perfect setting for the commercial," says Fialkov. "It was a fairly straight-forward production, although the wind on the beach didn't help matters much with recording live sound."
