Having originally cut his teeth at TBWA\Hunt\Lascaris, Salimane comes to OwenKessel with a wealth of Agency experience. Fresh from a successful stint client side at FNB where he established EasyPlan, a strategic unit for the unsecured lending business of the FNB Group, he knows how to measure and meet the clear expectations of successful and dynamic brand-centric organisations.
Salimane has always taken a maverick approach to projects. At FNB this resulted in the business acquiring just over 350 000 new unique customers, selling over half a million products to them from 160 points of presence (147 brick and mortar branches, 3 containers and 10 kiosks at strategic retailers) - no small feat. It's a healthy disrespect for convention paired with a systematic approach to reformulating the rules of engagement that achieved fantastic results. This approach he hopes will cement not only his position at OwenKessel but also help to grow the service offering, reinforce relationships and support the ever important creative standard of the Agency.
"What I like most about OwenKessel is that they are uncompromising in their creative approach to every project they undertake, and it's this ethos that has made them one of the key names in the industry to watch and one I'm proud to be a part of", comments Salimane. "They are the future of the Modern Agency".
According to OwenKessel CCO, Felix Kessel,"Big ideas require big thinkers but more than ever they require big doers. To be the best you have to hire the best, and we have. Sizwe is that rare breed that knows that to truly change the world you first have to try. I suspect he has a system for doing just that tucked away somewhere".
"As Sizwe builds his team of doers around him, so OwenKessel will go from strength to strength in building better client relationships, better strategies and continuing to deliver world-class creative".
It's this fervent and goal-oriented approach to success that makes Sizwe Salimane ideal as a General Manager for an Agency like OwenKessel that's gearing itself up for growth.
