Statistics for the hospitality industry are becoming increasingly impressive. This year will be no exception, with the 2010 FIFA World Cup™ which will provide a high influx of international visitors to South Africa. Hostex Cape has geared the industry with components to manage the additional demands which may present itself this year.
Hostex is the oldest and largest exhibition of its kind in Africa and endorsed by the South African Chef Association (SACA), Franchise Association, Café and Tearoom Association (CATRA) and various other associations representing the industry. Oasys Innovations provided the infrastructure for the 2010 exhibition, which took place at the Cape Town International Convention Centre.

“We are always excited about having Hostex in Cape Town, as the city is the tourism hub of South Africa, for both local and international tourists and sets the standards for the industry. We added some of the Cape wine industry jewels this year, exhibited in the Wine Circle,” says Lynn Chamier, Organiser of Hostex.

The exhibition was trade only and featured the latest product and service offerings, including bar equipment, computer software, food and beverage products and uniforms. The show is held in Cape Town bi-annually and will be hosted in Johannesburg in 2011. The event attracted 6 038 visitors over the three days.

Says Graham Jeffery, Chief Operating Officer of Oasys Cape Town, “The hospitality industry is consistently growing and Hostex is the perfect platform for role players in the industry to keep up to date with the latest trends and developments.”
