Says Craig Browning, chief operations officer for Oasys AV: “We have added much to our inventory and also supply extensive know-how for the staging of events and support to event management companies, artists and our traditional corporate clients. We try to be inventive at all times with large investments in technology. One of our developments is a podium for speakers with a built-in LED screen which communicates messages from the speaker's laptop.”
Browning says that the company was contracted to do the technology support for popular song artist Garth Taylor on his country tour. Taylor is well known for songs such as Why, Until I saw you and Only with you. Says Browning: “We will supply and manage the sound, lighting, staging and all the backline support which will be extended to his five piece band. We were also contracted by the Sting Record Company for technology support for Urban Rayne, the popular hip-hop group.”
Johannesburg Tourism Company hosted several thousand fans during the recent soccer festival in the Ball Room of the Sandton Convention Centre : “We supplied 100 LCD screens on stands for high definition images, two large screens for the images via projectors, as well as to project corporate logos and DVD's supplied by corporate sponsors on screen.”
Browning says the company is a strong supporter of Sony products. “We installed 3000 LCD Sony screens at four soccer stadiums in Rustenburg, Bloemfontein, Pretoria and Johannesburg as well as 50 Sony Bravia 40 inch hi-definition desktop screens. Sound was provided through eighty intrinsically powered JBL loudspeakers and two 8000 ANSI Lumen projectors for imagery.”
The variety of the Oasys AV offering is evident in technology support provided to The Airports Company of South Africa (ACSA). “As part of its customer relations orientation, our client arranged for a staff event that was held over several days with Robin Banks as the guest speaker. The venue was at OR Tambo International and we supplied the draping, sound, lighting, staging, video projection, chairs, plants, live camera shoots and the general infrastructure for the venue,” says Browning.
As the various projects unfold and are completed, Oasys Audio Visual is gaining new momentum on all the aspects of event infrastructure and management for any event, from live concerts to support for the realisation of company corporate communication initiatives.
