The Corporate Challenge took place at the Jacaranda 94.2 studio at Montecasino from 06:00 to 19:00 and based on previous years' performance, the initial target was to raise
over one million rands towards this campaign.
Thanks to the unbelievable giving spirit of the Jacaranda 94.2 family, over
R1.3 MILLION was raised during the 13-hour marathon!

This was an awesome team effort, with a number of celebrities such as former Jacaranda 94.2 apprentice, and current Miss South Africa, Nicole Flint, Nicholis Louw, Juanita du Plessis, Cindy Nel, Idols contestant Graeme Watkins, Izak Davel, Jakkie Louw, Coenie de Villiers, Flip-a-Coin and the winner of the Jacaranda 94.2 World Cup of Music, Steve Hofmeyr, joining Jacaranda 94.2's jocks in a buzzing studio to receive the pledges throughout the day.
Calls came from as far afield as Durban, Cape Town, Namibia and
even the USA: Cyril Wolf from Houston, Texas, who is a former South African citizen and current Managing Director of HOPE in SA, was listening to Jacaranda 94.2 via audio streaming. He called Clayton Robbertze on the Jacaranda 94.2 Workzone - pledging an amazing $5000 USD! He also went one step further - challenging a South African friend of his on air to match or beat his donation.
Not do be outdone by his "mate from Greenside", David Shapiro from Sasfin Bank reacted to the challenge within a matter of minutes, donating a further R40 000!
Added to the 24 000 blankets that had already been collected and combined with the Jacaranda 94.2 Schools Challenge, the total value of contributions for the 2010 Winter Warmer campaign has topped
R2.29 million - already a significant improvement on 2009's Winter Warmer - with one month left to go!

The Jacaranda 94.2 Winter Warmer campaign, in proud association with Gift of the Givers, runs until 31 July 2010 and aims to distribute more than 100 000 blankets to those in need this winter.
