Jacaranda 94.2 ‘Feel Good' strategy heats up

As part of its ‘Feel Good' plan, Jacaranda 94.2, in proud partnership with Gift of the Givers, is making an appeal to its audience and corporate South Africa to support the annual Winter Warmer campaign which kicked off last month.
Jacaranda 94.2 CEO Alan Khan explains that the station's ‘Feel Good' strategy focuses on making a positive contribution to our community. “Our strategy for Winter Warmer is focused on the fact that we all have the ability to make a positive impact in our country. This is why we want to rally more support to help those less fortunate this winter.

“Whether we are collecting and distributing blankets and food parcels to the needy, helping support organisations in the fight against domestic violence, rape and child abuse or raising awareness and fighting for animal rights and welfare - Jacaranda 94.2 is committed towards making a positive difference in South Africa.”

Jacaranda 94.2's Winter Warmer Campaign was launched four years ago in an effort to warm up the icy winter for thousands of needy men, women and children from various homes, shelters, orphanages and the homeless. Through this campaign, that donates blankets to the needy, Jacaranda 94.2 was able to donate over 111 000 blankets last year.

A further cash donation of R1.6 million was made to Gift of the Givers, to assist them with their charitable work. Jacaranda 94.2 is proud to confirm that all monies raised during the Winter Warmer campaign, goes towards the additional purchase of blankets and food parcels. Together with their sponsors, this Feel Good station covers all costs, including distribution, administration and transportation.

Trade Marketing Manager Bridget Clur comments: “As a radio station that places a lot of emphasis on its community, we are well aware of the challenges that less fortunate South Africans face in the trying economic climate and we want to show what true ‘Feel Good' radio is all about. This year, the needy will require even more help; therefore we have decided to also collect non-perishable canned food as part of this heartwarming campaign.”

Jacaranda 94.2 has also hosted a number of events, such as its More Music May concerts that were held on 23rd May at Clearwater Mall and the 30th May at Centurion Mall. Our supporters were able to ‘pay' for their entrance by donating a new blanket. A 13-hour Corporate Challenge will also be held this year, to raise funds for the Winter Warmer campaign, as it provides companies with an opportunity to make a valuable contribution.
