In celebration of Heritage Day, Africa's leading youth specialist agency, HDI Youth Marketeers, and the YouthTube team have joined forces to share with the world what it really means to be South African. This is all packed into Episode Five of the YouthTube video channel that launched on Youth Day 2015.
Terche Adriaanse, Kganya Kgolwane, Megan Armitage, Tim Abrahamse, Zama Pantshwa, Lethu Dlamini and the twins Kelebogile and Tshiamo Mathibela, crank up the cute factor as they chirp about all things local and lekker.
The South African public holiday celebrates our rainbow nation's diversity and calls on South Africans to unite despite their differences. When the kids were asked what it means to truly be South African, their respect for culture, proudly South African clothing and pap and boerewors was among the top three things that drive their patriotism.
"Seeing national pride alive and well in youth is so gratifying. These kids had a great time telling us how great South Africa is, which you don't get from adults often enough. Viva, SA, viva!" said Jason Levin, Managing Director at HDI.
