With Pietermaritzburg being announced the capital of KwaZulu Natal late last year, it is a market that is fast growing in terms of conferencing and eventing. Gearhouse South Africa, the leading technical supplier in the country, seized the opportunity to be affiliated with the Royal Agricultural Showgrounds earlier this year and after quick negotiations secured a Preferred Supplier status with the RAS.
Gearhouse Venue Technical Manager for the RAS, Richard Conibeer, is enthusiastic and optimistic about latest GVTM venture and sees this partnership going from strength to strength. He says, "Pietermaritzburg is booming and is fast becoming a recognized business hub. It therefore needs to have the support of reliable and service orientated technical suppliers". He adds that with Gearhouse having an office in Pietermaritzburg, clients can be assured of quick service, a vital attribute in the conferencing industry that demands excellence, first time, every time.
The Royal Agricultural Showgrounds is one of the biggest open venues available in Kwa Zulu Natal. With halls that can accommodate audiences in excess of 1000 pax each as well as various smaller rooms and breakaway rooms, they offer the corporate market a variety of options. Gearhouse has an office based at the showgrounds for the convenience of their clients, and are able to fulfill the conferencing market requirements including screens, projectors and PA Systems.
Of course, Gearhouse also specialises in Lighting, Audio, Audio Visual, Rigging and Staging, and can provide the WOW factor to the 15 000 fans that attend the concerts staged at the Showgrounds.
Gearhouse was available on a consultancy basis for technical and staging support at the 2005 Royal Show at the end of May. The Royal Show was running for its 153rd year. Gearhouse is proud to be associated with this prestigious show.
