Rain Productions collaborates with Joburg Expo Centre to celebrate 2010 SWC anniversary

Ke Nako! With the momentous occasion of the worlds most renowned soccer players converging on South African soil just over a year ago, Rain Productions was very proud to be associated with the Johannesburg Expo Centre at their 2010 Soccer World Cup Anniversary Party held on the 10th of June 2011.

Rain Productions furnished the venue with comfortable couches and loungers, whilst custom made coffee tables illuminated the venue. StarFX decorated the state-of-the-art furniture with colourful cushions and throws, transforming the venue into a festive explosion of World Cup colours. "I have never seen this venue look so transformed" says Karabo Moikangoe, Marketing and Sales Executive of the Johannesburg Expo Centre.

Rains Peanut Trident was displayed for guests to admire outside the venue. The inflatable venue that can accommodate up to 1000 patrons engulfed the arena and portrayed the true magnificence of the structure. The custom made rigging was erected outside the venue for guests to better understand the setup.

As the sun set the Peanut Trident was transformed into a glowing orb seen from miles away. Guests were blown away by the uniqueness and aesthetic appeal of the structure. "This is the most unique and innovative venue alternative I have ever seen" says Art Director of Studio4332, Toni Hughes.

Main Event Catering sponsored the delicious food and each country that participated in the World Cup was represented by a signature dish.

Guests were treated to a live performance by the well-known Huey and the Boys and spot prizes created an element of surprise for the guests as weekends away and other prizes were won.

Everyone who attended did their bit for charity by bringing along a blanket which the Johannesburg Expo Centre then donated to Inkwenkwezi Primary School in Soweto.

Combining six years of international events experience with eleven years design experience, Rain Productions is more than capable of handling any event that comes their way.

Rain Productions offers state-of-the-art conceptualisation, event design and event management. For more information about the company, visit www.rainproductions.co.za.
