Willem Kitshoff: human.kind Head of Design

Willem is an alumnus of the AAA school of Advertising where he completed a three year diploma in communication design. Prior to his studies, a gap year at a Kibbutz in Israel in the graphic department, gave Willem a taste for design. Fresh out of college, Willem joined one of the biggest architectural firms in the country gaining invaluable experience as a junior designer. Seeking greener pastures he moved on to an events company where he worked on numerous accounts including the Virgin cosmetics account prior to joining ad agency, Black Khaki.
Before assuming his creative post at human.kind, Willem's design portfolio included well known brands such as Mercedes, Sappi and Clover, which provided him with a good grounding in the art of corporate design. He is currently responsible for servicing a rapidly growing human.kind client base, including Virseeker, Consol and the SAB brand.

Willem's long-term goals are to develop and grow with human.kind. He believes the time is right, that he is with the right people, and working on the right projects, and that all of these factors combined, will help contribute towards the success of the agency. He wholeheartedly buys into the company philosophy of 'act with purpose' and enjoys the like-mindedness of the people he works with.

For fun, he enjoys spending time with his girlfriend and their three pooches, dreaming of new and exciting travel destinations. As lovers of off-the-beaten-track destinations, the couple has already ticked off Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, and island hopping in Brazil.

Over weekends you'll find Willem at home with friends or on his laptop producing music. His real passion, however, lies in photography where he explains that for him the ultimate shot is about capturing an interesting story at a unique angle.
