Louis Vuitton chose to host some of their valued clients at the U2 concert as a way to bring to bring the Louis Vuitton "Core Values" campaign to life. The latest in the beautiful Louis Vuitton ad campaign shot by Annie Leibovitz, features U2 front man Bono (aka Paul Hewson) and his wife, Ali Hewson. In the ad, Ali Hewson carries a new handbag which was a joint project between Edun and Louis Vuitton and includes a special charm which hags off the bag. The bag is the French firm's first made-in-Africa product.
All proceeds from the sale of the bags will go to TechnoServe, a non-governmental organisation which fosters enterprise building in the developing world and the Conservation Cotton Initiative, which supports sustainable farming in Africa. The ad shows the couple leaving a plane with a South African landscape as a backdrop and carries the tagline "Every journey began in Africa."
The guest invitations which depicted the Annie Leibovitz image of Bono and his wife, were hand delivered in an Aston Martin DB9 much to the delight of the guests. In a partnership brought together by Havas Sports & Entertainment, Aston Martin joined the celebration enabling the two compatible brands to engage.
Prior to the concert the guests were treated to a Champagne reception at the Louis Vuitton store in Sandton City before being individually chauffeured to FNB Stadium in luxury vehicles supplied by Aston Martin. Attention was paid to every detail from the drivers' attire and refreshments in the vehicles to the drop-off and meet and greet at the stadium.
On arrival at the stadium the guests were met by a Havas Sports & Entertainment representative and personally escorted to their private suite where they were treated to an evening of live cooking, good wine and great networking. Guests were awed by what Louis Vuitton had achieved as the venue had been totally transformed from the standard "2010" suite into a luxurious entertainment lounge with Louis Vuitton's décor team from New World Productions.
Havas Sports & Entertainment worked closely with the hospitality provider to ensure only the very best for their clients. A menu and bar offering fit for the calibre of the guest was conceptualised and executed to perfection. True to form, U2 delivered an unbelievable show which completed an extraordinary experience for everybody invited.
At the end of a wonderful evening, guests were once again escorted back to their waiting vehicles, which had been brought closer to the entrance for their convenience.
"The hospitality event was an enormous success and both the Louis Vuitton and Aston Martin guests enjoyed a once in a life-time experience," said Brad Jansen, Managing Director for Havas Sports and Entertainment.
