There have been few adverts in the newspapers lately of businesses claiming that they have been authorized by the High court to act as an agent of Telkom or Trudon. Please note that this is not true as no High court has authorized Directory solutions or Directory Holdings to act as an agent of Telkom or Trudon, which makes sense as nobody can appoint themselves as agent on behalf of another person. Trudon deals with all its customers directly, either telephonically or one-to-one, and do not accept any entries from agents to assist in the placement of any directory entries.
These agents confuse our customers and we, Trudon, are the only company that can update our customer entries in the Yellow Pages, says Johan Myburgh (CFO of Trudon). Often our customers are misled into believing that agents are acting on Trudon's behalf, but in actual fact they really do not have any real knowledge of our customer's business and of the advertising program built up over the years by the Trudon -trained consultants.
Trudon updates customers' entries without charging any extra flat fee, which these businesses charge. Our customers can therefore save money by coming directly to us and not accepting the "so called "service of these agents where they have to pay for the advertising cost plus the flat fee. These agents cannot ensure that your entry is placed correctly, so why waste your time and money by using their services.
These agents allege that Trudon acts unfairly towards them. They have taken Trudon to the Competition Tribunal for not accepting entries without prepayment but lost and was ordered to pay Telkom and Trudon's legal costs of the application and the appeal.
We also want to assure all our customers that Directory Solutions or Directory Holdings is not an agent of Trudon and if our customers want to change or update their company information, they can do so by contacting our Customer Care department on 086YELLOW (086 093 5569) who will not charge a fee for a supposed agent that does not add any value to the process.
