Now into its 15th year, the Webby Awards received close to 10,000 entries from 60 countries. With nearly 70 categories, website entries make up the majority of Webby Awards. Some are beautiful to look at and interact with, while others are a testament to usability and functionality. A handful excel across the board and these are the ones recognised by the largest web awards in the world.
"To be selected among the best is an incredible achievement worthy of praise. This honour signifies an outstanding calibre of work - and perhaps a little bragging for the winners," remarked the organisers.

Gloo celebrated in the website category for its collaboration with Joe Public on the Magic Moments FC campaign. This truly viral campaign centered on the love of football and starred an unusually untalented team of weekend footballers who could hardly kick the ball, but oozed enthusiasm for the game.

With over 160 000 unique visitors to the website in a 3-month period, the campaign was a huge success.

It also took Gold at the Loeries 2010, as well as the most effective Facebook campaign at the annual Habari Facebook Awards.

Dallas du Toit, Creative Director of Gloostad comments: "To get recognition at the Webbys is the peak of achievement for our team and this project shows once more the benefits of great collaboration, single-minded ideas and strong craft."

Pete Case, ECD of Gloo and 2 times judge at the Webbys, adds, "To cut through at an awards festival that views and judges over 10,000 entries is an achievement we're proud to have repeated for the 8th time. Our teams passion for what they do is very evident in this project, where we pushed every boundary possible, from technology to the core idea and digital strategy."

Xolisa Dyeshana, Creative Director of Joe Public adds, "We have always believed in the power of teamwork and this award serves as great acknowledgement to our collaboration with Gloo as well as our shared pursuit to create excellent and effective communication."

With its 8th Webby acknowledgement in the last four years, Gloo stretches its lead as the agency most awarded by this prestigious global organisation.
