Melinda Shaw, editor in chief of
heat magazine, says: "Did Tanit steal another woman's man? The evidence suggests she may very well have. Sharlto's ex, Melanie Haasbroek, returned home in November from LA to be with her ailing father who'd been diagnosed with cancer. Soon afterwards, Sharlto had his first meeting with Tanit, which she was very eager to tweet about."
Shaw says an insider revealed to heat that when Copley returned home to Cape Town, he and Phoenix met up several times in the house he co-owns with Haasbroek, leaving his then girlfriend alone in Gauteng to deal with her family crisis.
