Huisgenoot Namaqua Festival, Vredendal

With more than 60 artists on four different stages, Vredendal is the place to go when the brand-new Huisgenoot Namaqua Music Festival takes place from 28-30 October in Vredendal. The four stages will host super-talents including Juanita du Plessis, Nicholis Louw, Broers, Viljoen Retief, Karen Ferreira, Arno Jordaan, Willem Botha, Andriëtte, Gerrie Pretorius, Elizma Theron, Izak Davel, Nádine, Kurt Darren, Albert de Wet, Wynand Strydom, Chereé, Andries Vermeulen, Fredi Nest, Romanz, Jennifer Jones, Heinz Winckler and Ray Dylan.
The festival, held at the Vredendal show grounds, promises something for everyone: from a funpark for the kids, a supervised playpen for toddlers where your little bundle of energy can enjoy a few hours of creative activities, and of course a few beer tents where you can kick off your shoes and sip a glass of Namaqua wine as you enjoy South Africa's top musical talent strutting their stuff.

And rugby fans can relax: the Currie Cup final will be shown on giant screens so you won't miss the big game.

For extra excitement there are interactive competitions that you can enter via SMS or Facebook. There are big prizes up for grabs - a holiday for two on Huisgenoot's Musiekvaart worth R13 000, 10 tickets to SkouspelPlus (including accommodation for one couple on the Friday night), two iPhone 4s, two Kalahari eReaders, and many other prizes with the compliments of Huisgenoot. So don't leave your cellphone at home!

For the hungry there will be a variety of food stalls, and at the Huisgenoot stand festival-goers will be able to subscribe to Huisgenoot-Pols and Huisgenoot-Tempo at a special rate.

Tickets are available at Computicket.
