Stars were out in full force at the fourth YOU Spectacular held at Emperors Palace on 3 September. And the glitzy, gala event - hosted by YOU, South Africa's biggest-selling English-language magazine in conjunction with Truworths and Emperors Palace - was a party to end all parties.
More than 500 of the crème de la crème of South Africa's social scene attended the annual event at which the country's most popular stars are honoured. And this year was bigger, better and bolder than ever thanks to the enthusiastic voting of YOU's nearly two million readers.
Voting reached record highs this year with more than 600 000 cast via SMS, MXit and online. This means that winners in the 14 categories truly are SA's most-loved stars. And, boy, did they turn out in all their glamorous glory.
There were fabulous frocks, swanky suits and all-around beauty - and keeping the crowd entertained were top-notch performers such as The Parlotones, Tasha Baxter, Watershed, Freshlyground, InCha, Denim and Loyiso Bala.
But of course the most important part of the night was the announcement of the winners for which readers voted more than 600 000 times. The only category readers did not vote for was Newsmaker of the Year - YOU editor Esmaré Weideman chose the winner.
