Outdoor advertising raises awareness for HIV/ Aids

With the astounding number of people being infected and affected daily by HIV and Aids, and the alarming amount of children being orphaned as a result, there is a definite increasing demand for greater awareness as well as educational campaigns focused primarily on the prevention of this dreadful disease.
In order to achieve this objective, ADreach has made available R500 000 worth of media rental space, through which Aids awareness and prevention announcements will be flighted in numerous locations throughout Johannesburg, Pretoria and Centurion, as well as within the Limpopo and Mpumalanga Provinces.

Furthermore, as a result of Red Storm Visuals' generous offer to sponsor the production and print costs attached to this social awareness campaign, the general public will be presented with highly visible and recurring Aids awareness and prevention messages.

According to Roshney Ramdin, ADreach Group HR Manager, "ADreach is committed to making a genuine difference to South Africa, and this means playing a part in the social and economic development of the country. ADreach generally contributes to a number of initiatives, be it through sponsorships or donations. Seeing as 1 December is World Aids Day, this presents an opportune time to sponsor a campaign that serves to remind us all of the pandemic and its consequences, as well as to remind us of our responsibility in the prevention, treatment and support thereof."

As stated by Ryan Roos, Co-owner and Sales Director of Red Storm Visuals, "Red Storm believes in giving back to society. As a relatively new business, we have definitely managed to overcome a great degree of adversity, and simply knowing that there are those individuals who are brave enough to accept, adapt and never give up is enough to inspire us, as a company, to do the same.

"We have always had a great interest in social awareness and try to get involved in various initiatives. Unfortunately, we are unable to contribute to all the causes, which is why we were especially happy to get involved with this campaign. Now, the first prize would be to achieve public awareness, both for the cause as well as for our company through this campaign," says Roos.

"As a socially responsible company, ADreach's primary objective with this campaign is to create a consciousness of the realities of HIV and Aids, as well as to generate awareness that the power to make a change is in our hands. Due to the inherent nature of street pole advertising, this medium can be exceptionally effective in communicating socially responsible messages such as this one," concludes Ramdin.
