A brand new year sees some new appointments at The Brand Union as the leading brand consultancy continues to bolster its talent pool.
Internally, Cindi Thomas moves up from Account Director to assume the newly created role of Client Director – Africa, following her dedicated work in this market for a number of years.
Said Fiona Hitchcock, Managing Client Director for The Brand Union, "We're very pleased at Cindi's advancement to the post of Client Director - Africa, as she has grown significantly during her time with us, building and growing fantastic relationships with some of our key clients in Nigeria, Kenya and other African countries." The role was created following a number of new wins in this important market, including African Petroleum, Dangote Group and Unity Bank in Nigeria.
Continues Hitchcock, “Cindi's appointment adds to the formidable client service team we have been building, with Nicole Dickens also joining us recently as Client Director.” Dickens has broad experience in brand building, having worked in the leisure & gaming industry at Montecasino and the financial services sector with Momentum, and will oversee new account wins kulula.com, One & Only and Silverstar, among others.
Under the capable leadership of Hitchcock, who was herself promoted to the executive position of client service head last year, the team has undergone a number of positive developments and improvements. Adds Hitchcock, “We're now a stronger team with improved structure to service the agency's growing number of local and remote clients.”
On the consultancy's design front, Terri-Lynn Matthyser makes a well-deserved move from Design Director to Creative Director for the environmental design arm, while the highly capable Nikki Edwards joins The Brand Union from Switch as Design Director in the 2D department.
During her five years with The Brand Union, Matthyser has headed up large-scale environmental and retail design projects, including the design and roll-out of Lexus' local flagship dealerships, Mercedes-Benz's lifestyle concept facilities in Century City and Umhlanga, and most recently Toyota's retail revamp.
