Primedia Outdoor takes top honours at ABF's Pub Quiz

The Advertising Benevolent Fund (ABF) recently held its second annual Pub Quiz which was a great success thanks to the support received from Tsogo Sun, advertising agencies and media owners.
Twenty teams battled it out to win the coveted prizes, sponsored by Tsogo Sun.

"YFM took the lead early in the game, but other teams soon stood up to tackle them head on," says Sharlene Vallance, the ABF's fundraiser.

Primedia Outdoor's '67 minutes' team took top honours, after a sudden death battle with Stick. Third place went to Ireland Davenport's 'We're on it', the Newspaper Advertising Bureau (NAB) came in fourth, and fifth place went to Ireland Davenport's 'Scrawny Tadgers'.

"It was lovely to see support from new agencies, Pie Street Advertising, Yellowwood and Stick, whilst we greatly appreciate the continued support of those advertising agencies and media owners which have been supporting us for years," says Vallance.

The ABF ran a live social media campaign during the event, with a blow by blow account of the in-house action. "Thank you to The Baron on Main, which joined in the fun and offered a dinner voucher to anyone who might have tweeted the correct answers," says Vallance.

"Thanks again to the advertising industry and to Tsogo Sun for your generous support at this event. We made a profit which, as always, will be ploughed back to members of the advertising community who have fallen on tough times and really need our support," says Vallance.

The ABF's upcoming events include its Cape Town Golf Day on the 18th October, the Crazy Golf Day on 12th November and its Christmas Greetings. Contact Sharlene Vallance at for bookings and more information.
