The ABF Vital Support Fund has announced a date for its Cape Town Golf Day, which will be held on the 17th February 2012 at the King David Golf Club.
Says Riaan Kriel, Chairman for the ABF's Cape Town region, "This golf day has been a long time coming. We need to resurrect the support of our agencies and media owners in the Cape and thought that this would be one way to get closer to that goal. Cape Town ABF Golf Days were traditionally a strong-hold for the organisation many years ago and we plan to get it back to its former glory."
Industry golf days are a great way of allowing colleagues to network and connect with one another while having a great time. "They are also a sound way in which to raise funds for the ABF Vital Support Fund," adds Sharlene Vallance, Executive Committee member.
"The Cape Town market is growing fast and is largely unexplored for the ABF. Not only is it time that we reconnect with all our loyal supporters, but it's also time that we meet potential members and spread the news about the ABF. We do expect it to take some time and quite a bit of marketing to get sustainable industry support, but we are hopeful of a good turn out."
The ABF is anticipating a full field of 30 four balls. There are also various sponsorship opportunities available for the halfway house, dinner and individual hole sponsorship. Fourballs cost R1 500. Interested parties are invited to contact Sharlene Vallance on 083 452 6191 or .
"We anticipate a really great event and are looking forward to the weather playing ball as well," she says. "We really need the buy-in of the Cape industry to make this a successful event. The ABF is an industry charity and it's vitally important that we get the industry to support us, after all charity begins at home."
