The ABF hosts Village Cricket Day to raise funds

The ABF Vital Support Fund is calling on agencies and marketers to support its upcoming Village Cricket Day on the 18th April. Funds raised will go towards helping industry colleagues who have fallen on hard times.
Hosted at St Peters Preparatory School on Witkoppen Road in Paulshof, the ABF's Village Cricket days will cost a team of eight people R3750 to participate. “Each team should include at least two ladies,” says the ABF's Fundraising Manager Sharlene Vallance. “Participants are requested to bring their own food or picnic basket. Braai fires will be available. Snacks will be on sale and there will be a cash bar.”

On the day, an ABF “Hit the Wicket” competition will be held with the winner walking away with R2000. Early booking is essential as the number of teams which can be accommodated are limited.

The ABF was set up to assist those in the industry that are in real need of vital support. The organisation continues to coordinate events which raise funds with assistance from agencies and businesses in the industry, and set up membership drives to raise regular annuity income in order to assist those in need.

The 41-year-old charitable fund provides vital crisis support to individuals in the advertising, marketing and media industries who have fallen on hard times. In providing a support structure, the ABF helps those who cannot support themselves due to retrenchments, redundancies, injuries or illness.
