ECHO Events and Cartoonito rise to the occasion at the 2011 Cape Town International Kite Festival

Cartoonito had a brightly coloured and exciting presence at the annual Cape Town International Kite Festival, which took place on the 22nd and 23rd of October 2011 in Muizenberg. ECHO, in conjunction with Turner Broadcasting, hosted the Cartoonito Story Telling Corner in the Boomerang marquee. The theme for this year's festival was "Uplifting Mind and Body" and was proudly hosted by Cape Mental Health and Heart 104.9FM.
Festival goers could escape the wind and bring their children to relax on beanbags and be entertained with wonderful stories and energetic sing-a-long sessions. There was no shortage of entertainment over the two days including colouring in tables, kite making workshops and a range of fun-filled activities provided by HDI Youth Market Specialists.

Cartoonito is a dedicated programming block screened on Boomerang on MultiChoice's DStv (channel 302) in South Africa and the rest of Africa. Described by Turner Broadcasting as an "Exciting new entertainment destination for parents and their preschoolers aged between three and six," Cartoonito runs as a daily programming block with Bananas in Pyjamas as one of the signature shows. Also forming part of the debut Cartoonito line-up is Jelly Jam, a new 3D animation show.
