Echo launches the Echo For Children Foundation

The Echo For Children Foundation recently held its inaugural charity dinner at the exquisite La Colombe Restaurant in Uitsig. This, to mark its official launch and begin an annual tradition that will see the foundation raise funds for underprivileged children.
The gala dinner, a huge success thanks to our invaluable sponsors, Gearhouse South Africa, Traffic Integrated Marketing and The MadHatter, was made even more memorable by the fantastic prizes which were donated by Oakley, Simola Hotel Country Club & Spa, The Mount Nelson, Distell, Majeka House, The Kristensen Group, Luddite Wines, Adventure Works, Tanya Wheeler Jewellery and ghd.

Melanie Scholtz, The Gugulethu Tenors and Adamu and Buddy Wells provided great entertainment, wowing the crowd with their respective repertoires.

R15 000.00 was raised and donated to a school for underprivileged children, The Chris Hani Independent School in Langa. Says Margie Gibb, the School's Treasurer: “These funds are greatly appreciated and will help cover the costs of text books which are urgently needed as we restart school on Wednesday, 21 January 2009.”

A special thank you to La Colombe for coming to the party and together with Echo, executing an important, worthwhile event with polished flair, ensuring an unforgettable evening for all.
