Samsung announces Billads campaign winners

The winners of Samsung's SMS competition, brought to consumers in upmarket restaurants and coffee shops by Nine Mile Media's Billads Bill Folder advertising platform, have just been announced.

Samsung recently contracted Billads to break through the mobile phone advertising clutter and capture the interest of its consumers.

Conceptualised by Zonke Ignition Advertising, the creative for Samsung's Galaxy S mobile phone and the new Samsung Galaxy Tab, positioned these android devices as leaders within the mobile and multimedia arenas and enabled them to come to life via the Billads medium, enhanced by an array of other elements to amplify the campaign.

"By using the Billads medium, we appealed to the target audience in a relaxed environment - creating a greater affinity for the Samsung Galaxy brand," says Rupesh Mallgee, the MD of Zonke Ignition Advertising.

An SMS competition element was added to the campaign, to ensure consumer engagement and measurability.

The lucky winners were Franco Dal Bianco, Andrew Deacon and Joan Krause. Each of these consumers won a prize package worth R8000, including the sought-after Samsung Galaxy Tab.

The restaurant winners, which encouraged participation amongst their consumers and received the most SMS entries, won up to R5000 for their efforts. They are Café Magnifico (first), Dulce Café Greenstone (second) and Trumps Roodepoort (third).

"The obvious synergy and brand fit between Billads and Samsung created an engaging consumer campaign," says Craig Segal, the MD of Nine Mile Media.

"As the creative was delivered directly into consumers' hands, it was easy for them to engage with it, enter the competition and absorb the advertising message," he adds.
