Strepsils tickle consumers' fancy

Strepsils helped consumers fight off the bitter chill of winter with a campaign that tickled their fancy and not their throats by utilising the Billads platform.

Nine Mile Media, Managing Director, Craig Segal, explains: “Billads has reinvented the traditional bill folder, creating a professional folder for restaurants with their logo on the front cover. The inside covers provide an effective advertising mechanism for brands.”

The advertisement in the bill folders was in line with the Strepsils campaign on television and print which shows the surfer man. “The message to consumers was that Strepsils is not just a throat sweet, but a medicated lozenger that soothes the throat. The brand message that Strepsils can be used as a preventative measure to stop a problem before it starts was also emphasised.”

The campaign for the throat lozenger brand focused on brand recall and awareness. On-site research conducted during and following the campaign showed that 73% of respondents recalled that Strepsils was advertising within the bill folders.

Brand Manager for Strepsils, Maciek Kaliszka was happy with these results. “Billads was chosen as a platform because of its high tactical value and it delivered. It got the message out there, which is shown by the high recall. The alignment of our brand message and Billads' presentation was very successful.”

The campaign took place at over 150 different restaurant, light meal and coffee sites countrywide and all of these sites carried the Strepsils campaign exclusively.

Strepsils is part of the Reckitt Benckiser range of products which include some of the best-known health-care brands such as Nurofen and Disprin.
