How a holistic, personalised customer view ensures loyal customers and increased revenue
It is important for a thriving and profitable business to have access to a holistic, 360-degree view of its customers because this gives the company a deeper understanding of its clients as people, including both their behaviours and their needs. This, in turn, allows the business to provide a personalised experience to each and every customer, and allowing them to be treated as unique individuals and not as the polar opposite - impersonal statistics which have been randomly assigned. 12 May 2023 Read more

F-Secure ID Protection prevents falling victim to identity theft
Identity theft happens when someone uses another person's identity or personal information, such as their name, social security number, credit card number or online credentials without permission to commit a crime or fraud. Resolving identity theft is not easy. Once information gets exposed, it can stay out there for years. The majority of identity theft incidents originate from cyber criminals exploiting users' weak passwords. It is important to be the first to know if your personal information is exposed online so that you can take control of your online identity and minimize the risk of account takeover. 5 Nov 2020 Read more

Mobile workforce of critical importance now
With the current worldwide coronavirus pandemic resulting in the forced closure of education and public facilities globally and having governments around the world recommending that organisations restrict movement with employees requested to stay at home, mobile workers have never been more important to the survival of businesses. While such measures are undoubtedly sensible and prudent, allowing their staff to fulfil their daily duties outside of the office is unmapped territory for most companies and is typically a scenario that was never planned for. Affected employees are also finding the changes to be a greater culture shock than they had anticipated, leaving them feeling isolated, 'out of the loop' and, in many cases, somewhat chaotic. Unfortunately for South Africa, the reality is that despite the growing range of tools and gadgets that have become available over the last decade with the associated advances in new technologies, very few local businesses have opened their minds to the possibility of an off-site workforce and are finding they unprepared for such an adaptation. 20 Mar 2020 Read more

Ransomware attacks have once again become a major topic of discussion of late with more organisations having reported such breaches in recent months. Having an effective Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system is becoming ever more critical for businesses today in order to tackle the growing complexity of the modern customer landscape. South African companies falling prey to ransomware
It hasn't been a good start to the year for many South African businesses as their employees returned to work only to discover that they had been locked out of their computers and company databases had been encrypted. Demands for large payments to be made, typically in the form of untraceable bitcoins, in order to regain access inevitably followed. When payments were made by those who decided to take their chances and pony up the money in an attempt to continue doing business as usual, some of them were then advised that the amount had subsequently increased. Presumably this was because the original amount was deemed too affordable given the readiness of these hapless businesses to pay up. 6 Mar 2017 Read more

The need to protect yourself from evil domain name system (DNS) servers
A popular way for cyber criminals to execute their attacks on internet users is to manipulate an individual's online behaviour in that they change their internet settings to direct them to domain name system (DNS) servers that they have been created in order to pretend to be something that they aren't to receive payments or obtain confidential personal data. DNS servers are integral to the operation of the internet in that they make it possible for computers and other devices to find each other. The attackers use these evil DNS servers to make money by setting up rogue servers that will direct individuals to websites that contain fraudulent advertising, spread malware or even trick them into revealing personal information such as bank account passwords. 31 Mar 2015 Read more

Inbound marketing is the method by which prospective customers are attracted to an organisation's digital resources using a variety of specific methods including Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and leveraging social media. The company website and electronic communications also need to contain the content and interaction features necessary to engage with visitors and measuring the success of the marketing campaigns using digital tools is also vitally important. No inbound marketing initiative is complete, however, without a comprehensive Customer Relationship Management (CRM) solution to help manage the whole process and allow sales and marketing staff to be armed with the right information in order to interact with prospective customers in such a way as to increase the likelihood of doing business with them. 15 Oct 2014 Read more
