The Mouse That Roared is a tightly knit, strategically-driven creative agency whose core focus is to assist the Branding and growth of our clients through powerful, insightful and innovative communication solutions.

Based on the title of a book, The Mouse That Roared has become a phrase synonymous with punching above one's weight. From day one, we've kept ourselves lean so that we can offer clients great value for money, and top-heavy, so we can expedite work that answers the brief quickly and intelligently, with minimum come-backs.

We believe labels are limiting, therefore we won't tell you we're above-the-line, below-the-line, or even through-the-line.

Rather we are a group of like-minded thinkers who create new lines (or cross old ones) for our clients across multiple channels and touch points, including the so called above-the-line media channels, below-the-line promotional and activation channels as well as through-the-line digital channels and brand design.

In 1964, communication philosopher Marshall McLuhan stated, "The Medium is the Message." A statement that rings even truer today than it did fifty years ago. We believe no one in South Africa is better suited than The Mouse That Roared to finding the right Medium for the right Message for our clients.

Kevin is the Executive Creative Director at The Mouse that Roared. He has been plying his trade for close on 40 years now and has worked on everything from chocolate to airlines, banks to medical aids, cars to fast foods. In his advertising career he has launched companies like Tracker, Nando's, Heat, FHM, E Trade, Scooters and many more. Kevin has an infectious enthusiasm which permeates both creative and client service - and encourages everyone to find the magic in the project.

AT THAT TIME HE WAS THE ONLY EMPLOYER AND THE ONLY EMPLOYEE.
WE ARE NOW AROUND 80 STRONG.
BRANDING/DESIGN
Branding is the strengthening of a product (or services) and name recognition as a result of an advertising or promotional campaign. Design is a graphic contrivance, which seeks to convey a defined message in the most effective way possible.
PRODUCTION
Production as the name suggests, is concerned with producing and procuring the material which creative has presented to client. Production must ensure that the solution is close enough to creatives’ vision, but is also affordable to the client.
MOTION
Motion refers to a specialized sub-division of creative, which is responsible for 2D/3D animation, visualization and many allied skills. It is a distinct advantage to have such capabilities integrated into the creative set-up.

ACTIVATIONS
Activations and experiential marketing is a useful part of the marketing mix, that, in essence, enables new consumers to experiment with the product or service. Activations can also reach niche markets in an effective way.
DESIGN/BTL
Design comprises graphic disciplines which are not focused on advertising per se and may include Corporate Identity and logo developed. BTL refers to Below-The-­Line i.e. tasks not remunerated through commission.
DYNAMIC PUBLISHING
Dynamic publishing is a growth area – and with good reason. Dynamic publishing presents text in tandem with interactive visual or audio material – enabling the reader to drill down to personalized areas of interest. Static text struggles to compete.
