
Many in the African diaspora trace their rhythmic roots to Angola's drumming.
On Friday 31 July to Sunday 02 August, this musical heritage returns to its source as musicians from
Brazil, Mozambique, South Africa and the United States (US) descend on
Cine Atlântico in Angola's capital city, Luanda. They will participate in the launch of the

Luanda International Jazz Festival is proud to announce that the venue of the inaugural event is the Cine Atlantico instead of the Convention Centre, which was initially earmarked, but is unavailable. The festival has spent the past two weeks redesigning the Cine Atlantico venue into a world-class entertainment facility. Attention has been given to structural and leisure detail.
