Reuters launches daily African TV

Reuters has expanded its television coverage of Africa with the recent launch of a dedicated daily video feed, Reuters Africa Daily. The new service provides both African and global broadcasters with a variety of video news from the region.

Joel Kibazo, chair of the independent judging panel, yesterday, 10 May 2006, announced the 21 finalists for the 11th annual CNN MultiChoice African Journalist 2006 Competition, five of whom are South African. Winners will be announced at a gala awards ceremony in Maputo at the Polana Serena Hotel, Mozambique, on Saturday 15 July.

The search for fresh modelling talent begins this month as TV channel M-Net and mobile phone company Nokia start holding open castings for aspiring models in Accra, Addis Ababa, Cape Town, Dar es Salaam, Gaborone, Johannesburg, Kampala, Kigali, Lagos, Luanda, Lusaka, Nairobi and Windhoek.

DDB South Africa strengthens Africa Network

DDB South Africa has announced the formation of a specialised division within the company to handle its business in Africa. The division, to be known as 'DDB Interstation', will co-ordinate the agency's activities in the ten African countries where DDB SA is active.
