As I do not wish to be seen blowing my own trumpet,my contribution to this must remain anonymous.

A few years back, I did write a book. I sent the draft for comments to many including serious literary readers, and, a couple of professionals. You might expect their 100% Rah, rah...you must get it published..etc to indicate that it was at worst a 'good' read. A few amendments were made and then I tried to find a publisher. Actually, tried to find an agent as publishers no longer seem to deal with debutant authors.

Hah. No reply after no reply. About 20 of them. Even rejections would have been preferable to ignored!

The book lies in my computer memory. A disappointing end but at least I proved to myself that I could write a good novel. But I'm not sure that agents are sufficiently hungry. Posted on 7 Dec 2012 13:35

I apologise for any offence this article may have caused - that was never the intent, and I can assure you it doesn't come from a place of hatred. It was an attempt by the author to enlighten others (as well as himself through the writing of the article) to the struggles transgenders face - from the public scrutiny to the arduous physical process in order to become who they really are.

I can see how this article could appear insensitive - but it comes from a place of naivety, rather than phobia. And it goes to show how much further we still have to go to understand transgenders.

I will gladly correct the article if you still so wish - but I would also then feel inclined to remove all these comments as I would have removed the context too.

Again, I'm very sorry for any disrespect.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Petrol price to drop
I filled at a randburg Sasol this morning and the price was still R12.10. I got robbed!
Also when I multiplied my litres filled (according to slip) by the incorrect petrol price my cents came to .68 BUT the garage charged me .80. They rounded up twice. I got robbed again! Posted on 5 Dec 2012 07:44
