Traffic/Production Manager

Job description

Main responsibilities
  • Is responsible for ensuring that the allocated teams have the right time and resources to deliver within the client’s time frame.
  • Builds the respect and loyal commitment of allocated team members, and of the agency as a whole.
  • Has good knowledge of financial procedures
  • Has a good understanding of the Agency Industry rate card
  • Timesheet management
  • Responsible for overseeing the briefing of every team applicable job that comes in through to the necessary department, and ensuring timeous delivery on each
  • Primary function is to track materials, schedule and forecast the workflow of advertising and production materials. Watches each element of an advertising campaign closely to ensure that all deadlines are met
  • Ensures that agency projects are completed on time
  • Serves as a liaison between the Creative, Production and Account Management departments
  • Responsible for developing project timelines and ensures that quality standards are met.
  • Opens job bags and loads them on to Chase
  • Coordinates weekly status meetings
  • Chases cost estimates, samples and pulls of jobs
  • Arranges for freelancers if required
  • Has a good understanding of print and repro, and a thorough understanding of the creative process involved
  • Also responsible for monitoring stalled jobs and moving them forward
  • Is a mentor for the junior team of interns
Managing Creative Resources
  • Responsible for negotiating with the agency’s creative department
  • Builds enough cushion into the schedule to allow for some give-and-take, to be able to stick to a schedule that will result in timely campaign production
Communicating Specifications
  • Provides clear communication between Account Management and the Production team
Maintain Approval and Reports
  • Ensures approval of parties involved if any material changes are made at any stage of a project
  • Tracks and reports all changes made to any production procedures, and tracks their approval
  • Open to and active in sharing knowledge/intelligence
  • Contributes by effecting innovation that builds a positive agency culture, and actively fosters or participates in fostering a positive work environment
