Our client, a tour operator which has been arranging customised tours in Southern Africa for more than 30 years wishes to employ a German speaking tour consultant. Their professional, enthusiastic and energetic team consist of nine people who serve mostly the German-speaking market for individuals, groups or incentive traveller. This position is ideal for someone with a passion for the travel industry and who wants to take the next career step

Responsibilities:

• Receiving initial requests
• Dealing with consultants/clients from overseas via email and telephone
• Preparing quotations for clients that best suit their experience expectations within a budget
• Booking hotel rooms, car rentals, lodges as per customer/consultant confirmation etc.
• Booking services with suppliers, checking that confirmations and invoices are correct
• Invoicing
• Taking emergency calls

Requirements:

• Excellent written and verbal English and German
• Matric / relevant tertiary education advantageous
• Two+ years’ experience as a tour consultant (advantageous)
• Be well-travelled within Southern Africa and must have a passion for the travel industry
• Excellent computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Good typing skills
• Must be able to work in a team and multi-task
