We’re don’t only provide accommodation – we’re committed to creating unique travel memories highlighted by a personal touch.

We’re a small team and we’re looking for a committed, organised and driven sales consultant. Working with the team in our Cape Town office, you will be tasked with growing our member numbers, visiting existing and new establishments around the country and nurturing the strong relationships that are the benchmarks of Portfolio.

Role and responsibilities:
  • Work through our database to identify, target and close sales leads
  • Grow our member base
  • Travel regularly between Cape Town and the Garden Route visiting existing establishments and signing up new ones
  • Maintaining existing relationships with members and forging new ones
  • Undertaking up to three national trips per annum to other regions, lasting four to five weeks at a time
  • Achieve agreed sales targets as set out by directors
  • Report into the general manager and directors
  • Keep the sales support staff updated and informed


You are our perfect candidate if you:
  • Are Cape Town-based
  • Have a strong, proven sales background – ideally in tourism or hospitality
  • Understand the luxury travel market in SA
  • Have the ability to identify and approach new sales opportunities
  • Display an understanding of how to match the right product to the right buyer
  • Have strong inter-personal skills to foster solid business relationships – Portfolio’s foundation is on the personal relationships that we have with the owners of our properties
  • Have excellent numeracy and language skills (written and spoken fluency in English is essential)
  • Have excellent computer skills including web updates and drawing up of reports
  • The ability to work quickly and efficiently while on the move
  • Are patient and tenacious
  • Have a good understanding of local travel, tourism, hospitality and marketing
  • Have a clean, current driver’s licence
  • Want to travel for work – you will be undertaking extended trips on your own
  • Are either single or have a family set up that won’t affect your ability to be away from home for extended periods
