Job description

Job Responsibility:
  • Ensure successful implementation of Agile in softwa+B51re initiatives with improved quality in accordance with business needs and strategic goals
  • Provide expert level guidance to software initiative team in terms of process, system, tools, methods as well as communication, integration and successful team dynamics through weekly facilitation sessions. Integrate with diverse stakeholders by engaging and facilitate with multiple diver’s groups across a spectrum of wants and needs
  • Build professional relationships though engagement and regular communication and feedback with all stakeholders using quality metrics and the initiative status reports as drivers
  • Ensure professional relationships with software contractor, consultants, external suppliers and outsourced/ smart source vendors by continuous Integration communication and team facilitation
  • Support the Agile transformational teams in driving the implementation of Lean and Agile principles and practices across the Group Technology portfolio
  • Guide Solution Delivery teams and organisation on how to use Lean and Agile practices and values
  • Guide the team on how to get the most out of self-organisation
  • Remove impediments or guiding the team to remove impediments by finding the right personnel to remove the impediments
  • Facilitate getting the work done without coercion, assigning, or dictating the work
  • Facilitate discussion, decision-making, and conflict resolution
  • Provide all support to the team using a servant leadership style whenever possible, and leading by example
  • Provide early warning capabilities when the initiative deliverable are under threat with suggestions for corrective actions
  • Ensure Agile integrity through regular inspections and support Agile initiative to successful delivery
  • Mitigate risks through weekly initiative meetings and by guiding and coaching team members
  • Assist in clarifying, defining and clearly articulating requirements in terms of an agreement regarding the approach as well as negotiating the relevant time frames, outputs and delivery expectations
  • Ensure successful Sprints and Stand-Ups by conducting admin duties and facilitating all related activities
  • Prepare Product Owner for Sprints by providing information for a successful sprints and on-going status updates
  • Prepare Agile team for successful sprints by providing information for a successful sprint and by ensuring mandatory Agile training has been completed
  • Assist Agile team in sprint plans, alternatives and generally remove all impediments through guidance and coaching
  • Assist the Agile team to identify and mitigate risks through regular mentoring and follow up sessions.
  • Guide team in conducting a sprint within stated Agile rules through coaching
 Develop cross-team involvement participation and growth by coordinating team skills and efforts
  • Identify team member strengths and opportunity for improvements
  • Ensure improvement goals through regular quality assessments and process status assessments
  • Support the achievement of the business strategy, objectives and values by reviewing the company and Business Unit
  • Plan and ensuring delivered systems, process, services and solutions are aligned.
  • Identify training courses and career progression for self through input and feedback from management
  • Ensure all personal development plan activities are completed within specified time frame.
  • Share knowledge and industry trends with team and stakeholders during formal and informal interaction
  • Obtain buy-in for developing new and/or enhanced processes (e.g. operational processes) that will improve the functioning of stakeholders' businesses by highlighting benefits in support of the implementation of recommendations
  • Train new team members in process dashboard tool through facilitated sessions
  • Provide coaching and guidance in eliciting consistent and achievable stretch goals on both team and individual level
  • Address coaching needs identified by consulting to business and individuals on coaching requirements
  • Establish boundaries, commitment, trust, rapport and team cohesion by conducting personal conversations with team members
  • Contribute to a culture conducive to the achievement of transformation goals by participating in company’s culture building initiatives (e.g. staff surveys etc.)
  • Participate and support corporate responsibility initiatives for the achievement of business strategy (e.g. Green Strategy)
  • Seek opportunities to improve business processes and systems by identifying and recommending effective ways to operate and adding value to the company


Experience requirements:
  • Certified Scrum Professional
  • Certified Scrum Master
  • Product Owner
  • Agile Certified Practitioners (ACP) – PMI
  • Intermediate Knowledge and experience of other Agile approaches: XP, Kanban, DSDM, TSP, Crystal, FDD, etc.
  • Experience applying a wide variety of well documented patterns and techniques for filling in the intentional gaps left in the Scrum approach (example: numerous Burndown techniques, numerous Retrospective formats, handling bugs, etc.)
  • Previous experience as a team lead
  • Excellent communication and mentoring skills
  • Consulting experience in a variety of industry will be an advantage
  • Experience with the implementation of Agile in an organisation will be an advantage
  • Background in project management either through the initiative experience or as a practicing Project manager
