Food/Beverage Manager

Remuneration:R17000 - R22000 per month

Management opportunity exists for a food and beverage manager with at least four years of experience in a similar role. You will be responsible for coordinating all activities of the food and beverage team and achieving service that exceeds expectations. This position would suit a natural born leader with excellent customer service and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities:
  • Achievement of budgeted food sales, beverage sales, labour costs and profitability.
  • Completion of customer follow-up calls on a timely basis.
  • Timely analysis of food and beverage prices in relation to competition.
  • Participation and input towards F&B marketing activities.
  • Development and maintenance of all department control procedures.
  • Handle all food and beverage enquiries and ensure timely follow up on the same business day.
  • Attendance and participation at weekly F&B meeting and Department Head meeting.
  • To assist in menu planning and pricing.
  • Development and maintenance of department manual.
  • Participation in manager on duty shifts as required.
  • Assure the maintenance of kitchen control policies.
  • Assuring adequate and consistent completion of monthly stock take.
  • Assure the ordering and purchasing of kitchen and restaurant stock for Food & Beverage.
  • Consistent check of kitchen/restaurant food and beverage quality.
  • Ensuring that services meet customer specifications.
  • Minimise number of customer complaints.
  • Quality of food and beverage services and department phone handling.
  • Responsible for staff training and development.
  • Ensure all staff have 'smart serve' certification.
  • Proper hiring and termination procedures must be followed.
  • High employee retention.
  • Personnel selection and discipline of personnel when required.
  • Responsible for overseeing all scheduling within the department.
  • Participation towards overall kitchen/restaurant maintenance and cleanliness.
  • Overall maintenance of the operation at a level in keeping with the standards prescribed.
  • Minimise the number of workmen's compensation claims.
  • Report any deficiencies in equipment and facilities.
