Job description

Be part of a small team with big dreams. As the head of our small marketing department, you will plan and implement the marketing activities of the company end-to-end. If you enjoy a small, dynamic team and you're an all-rounder, very good at planning, a strategic thinker and an implementer, then this job could be ideal for you. 

IBTC is a private college offering tuition to professionals studying towards their global chartered accountancy exams. We offer online classes, distance learning and face-to-face classes in three major centres. Our head office is in Cape Town.

What we need you to do 

As the marketing manager for the company, you will develop and execute integrated marketing plans that are designed to grow our business. You will work closely with an external agency to develop targeted marketing strategies that help expand our client base, break into new markets and grow our brand. Following a calendar of events, we continuously try new ways to build our brand awareness and grow our market share in a very competitive environment. Our focus is on direct marketing for leads generation, as well as on building a community of fans.

Examples of things you'll be involved in are as follows:

Tactical stuff
  • Develop marketing plans for our products to generate leads across various marketing channels
  • Project-manage the implementation of all marketing plans across all channels
  • Generate quantity and quality leads for the business
  • Monitor performance of marketing activities to inform future plans and budgets
  • Build and manage our internal database
  • Manage our website
  • Manage various agencies and suppliers, as well as a small internal team
  • Plan and implement open days three times a year
  • Overhaul all collateral to improve sales conversion
  • Expense budget management
  • Engage in marketing via direct mail (internal and third-party database) marketing, social, website, PPC/display, content, SEO, events, postal
Big stuff
  • Development of a new website in future and improvements of current website in the interim
  • Development of CRM functionality to maximise utilisation of own database
  • Move from a direct marketing approach to digital and brand marketing
  • Development of loyalty programmes
People stuff
  • Managing performance of own team of different functions

  • You will report directly to the CEO and be part of a small management team
  • You will have two marketing interns reporting to you
  • You will work closely with the GM, FM and the CEO

  • Strong marketing skills across various channels. Experience in direct marketing and online marketing is very important. Experience in planning and execution, monitoring and analysing results are key

  • Have a proven track record (proof of being amazing)
