Job description

A leading manufacturer and supplier of cement based in Maputo Mozambique is urgently looking for an experienced sales manager for mining and building material to join their team in Johannesburg or Nelspruit.

The key responsibility is:
  • Oversee sales of Key Accounts, promotions, collections and other activities to achieve sales target.
  • Focus on Key Accounts (KA) and build a positive working relationship in order to achieve the highest customer satisfaction and grow repeat business and win additional projects.
  • Identify and contact potential customers for new business opportunities.
  • Coordinate with sales and marketing teams to plan promotional activities, trade shows and special events in order to achieve business objectives.
  • Develop business objectives, strategies, sales plans, budgets, schedules and action plans in agreement with the sales and marketing team and the mining manager.
  • Provide forecasts and be a vital part in planning the supply chain to meet the customer's demand.
  • Develop creative sales techniques and tactics to meet business goals.
  • Understand client needs and provide appropriate sales solutions.
  • Develop sales presentations for customers.
  • Participate in sales conferences, industry meetings, and social networks to represent the company's brand.
  • Motivate, train and develop mining distributors, Mining Manufactures and OEMS
  • Manage claims and credit risk as well as timely payments proactively.
  • Ensure superior customer relations through enough face-time.
It is import to have:
  • Long experience and connection with the mining industry
  • Selling and buying different commodities
  • Good experience in quicklime/hydrated lime/cement fondu/bentonite
  • Good connections with DIY markets and stores/retailers/ready mix/construction companies
  • Good knowledge in cement market in South Africa specially Nelspruit/Limobobo regions


  • Bachelor’s Degree - marketing, B-COM, engineering degree MBA advantageous
  • Five+ years of technical sales, Mining sector preferable
  • Key account management
  • Strong automotive network in the mining sector
  • Strong network with the local Government Institution
  • Computer literate technical background would be an advantage
  • Excellent customer service skills
