Job description

To create accurate and updated product catalogue in the online store. Manage the product cycle of the on-line store; product shoots uploads and descriptions. General website management and maintenance. Identify innovative and create ways to drive sales and improve customer experience.

Key responsibilities:
  • Identify innovative and creative ways to drive sales and improve the customer experience with the aim to exceed targets
  • Manage the product cycle of the online store: planning ahead product shoots, uploads, developing product descriptions
  • General website management; copy writing, logistics, ongoing system maintenance, identifying errors on a timely basis
  • Identifying and presenting improvements to the ecommerce experience in aid to drive sales
  • Coordinating with lead advertising agencies, ensuring any system updates or new integrations are thoroughly tested and deadlines are met, and following up with agency as required
  • Excellent project management skills – able to work to multiple deadlines within time constraints
  • Liaise and work closely with marketing stakeholders, as well as internal (procurement, buyers and sales) and external stakeholders (suppliers). Assertively manage stakeholders to deliver
  • Responsible for coordination of various ecommerce and digital marketing data points – Google Analytics, sales performance, etc. – and compiling monthly performance reports on website statistics, including; traffic, conversions, customer preferences, stock levels, product selections and transactions
  • Work closely with customer service teams to share responsibility of all online store related customer service support
  • Customer focused, and detail orientated
  • Perform other duties as assigned and displays initiative
  • Good communication skills – both written and verbal
  • Hands-on approach with a can-do attitude, willingness to get their hands dirty and the ability to work well with a variety of people
  • Excellent project management skills – able to work to multiple deadlines within time constraints
  • An appreciation for creating and following processes
  • Monitor and analyse the market (local and international) to identify threats and opportunities the business needs to be aware of. Constantly stay abreast of developments in the field, bringing relevant new ideas for implementation


Requirements

  • Matric or equivalent
  • Degree or diploma in retail management, e-commerce, marketing or advertising
  • Ability to handle pressure
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively (verbal and written) at all levels
  • Numerically skilled
  • Two years' minimum experience in a similar role
  • Retail environment background and preferably experienced in working with technology focused consumer products and brands
  • Experience in developing digital product catalogues
  • Be the in-house point of contact for all online store related queries
  • Copy writing
  • Familiar with using Google Tools, Google Analytics and SEO
  • Business and Data Analysis Skills
  • Experience with WordPress and WordCommerce
