Job description

Spearheaded by our CIO, Rhino Africa’s Tech Department is a close-knit team of data engineers, programmers, web developers and UX specialists. To continue to inspire through innovation and achieve our vision to be the undisputed authority on African travel, we require the expertise of a data-driven Business Analyst to join our first ever Project Management Office (PMO).

Our ideal Business Analyst will be skilled at handling complex data issues and ensuring that all business reporting needs are met. We're searching for a natural problem solver with 2 to 4 years of experience liaising with stakeholders to understand business needs and improve on business processes.

As a Business Analyst, your responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:
  • Translating business requirements into technical requirements
  • Prioritizing initiatives based on business needs and requirements
  • Anticipating requirements that will be needed in the future or that have not yet been considered
  • Constraining requirements so the focus remains on core business needs and not users’ personal preferences
  • Organising requirements into user stories and related categories to effectively manage and communicate them
  • Creating low-fidelity wireframes and storyboards
  • Ensuring solutions meet business needs and requirements
  • Performing user acceptance testing
  • Leading ongoing reviews of business processes and developing optimisation strategies
  • Assisting in the design, documentation, and maintenance of business and system processes
  • Modeling and documenting business and system process using BPMN
  • Constantly seeking ways to improve business practices and efficiencies
  • Providing leadership, training, coaching, and guidance to junior members of the team

Requirements

Our ideal Business Analyst will possess:
  • A Degree or equivalent diploma in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, Commerce (Technology focused) or another relevant field of study
  • 2 - 4 years of experience in business analysis or a related field
  • Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Phenomenal problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
  • The ability to create visual models, such as workflow diagrams and wireframes
  • Experience in creating detailed reports and giving presentations
  • Excellent planning, organizational, documentation & time management skills

Knowledge of the following will be advantageous, but is not required:
  • Agile and Lean methodologies, such as Scrum and Kanban
  • Systems development life cycle
  • JIRA/Confluence
  • Advanced Excel with knowledge of pivot tables
  • BPMN 2.0
  • Systems thinking (Systems dynamics knowledge)
